QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
I need to replace my cat flap after 10 years but do I also have to replace the original mounting adaptor?
No, you can use the existing mounting adaptor if you like. Thanks.
Perfect. Amazing item
We love this, especially with the Hub. We love that it will only let our cats in (we have 3) and that we can set curfew times as there are a lot of mean foxes in the area in the evenings. When we're away we can keep an eye out for when they come in and out of the house and it even has a report which tells us how long our cats spend outside and their daily average. We highly recommend this catflap, but make sure you spend that extra and buy the hub with it.
So the item itself is great, such a good idea and as we’ve just moved into our new house I wanted to get something I could control from my phone, so if we went back to my parents house (which is 2 hours away) I could still check where my cat Mowgli was and shut her in for the evening. It also meant once I heard her meowing I could just open the flap remotely rather than getting out of bed at 5am. HOWEVER The loud clicking that others have referred to is really quite loud. I never really thought of Mowgli as a nervous cat, but she refused to go near it every time the click went off, no matter if that meant she wasn’t allowed outside at all, she did not trust it. She would get close and the click would sound and she would back off immediately. What we have done for now is sellotaped the latch down, and taken the batteries out so the click doesn’t sound anymore, and she is currently using it like a manual cat flap (it still took a bit of convincing after the click put her off). We plan to get her used to it as a manual cat flap, and once she’s comfortable we will try turning it back on again. It’s a real pain as the price is due to the extra features, so it’s a shame my cat won’t actually use it as intended! Hopefully we will get there. Google searches on how to get her used to it proved fruitless, and the suggestion of ‘putting treats on the other side’ is such an obvious thing which we obviously tried multiple times to no avail. But good luck to all other cat owners, hopefully your cat is a bit more forward than ours!
