SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap White.
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap prevents intruder animals from entering the home, which can be a major cause of stress and disruption for both you and your pet.
The cat flap opens only for a registered cat's microchip when they return home and can store up to 32 pet identities in its memory, making it ideal for single or multi-cat households.
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap is a selective entry cat flap, where any cat can exit the house - If you require a selective entry and exit cat flap, please see the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap.
Programming your pet's identity into the cat flap's memory is quick and easy, requiring just one push of a button.
When you are purchasing a cat flap, please ensure: -
- To select the most appropriate cat flap for your cat’s size, weight and needs.
- We recommend that customers use the flap sizes to cut a hole in a cardboard box to see if the cat/dog will fit through it ok.
- It is vital that you are confident that your cat flap purchase will fit in the desired place in your home. For example – if it is a glass installation, is the glass wide enough?
The Sureflap Glass adaptor is compulsory for all installation into a glass & double glazing; without it, it will not fit. This is sold separately.
The cat flap runs on 4 AA batteries (sold separately), which typically last for up to a year and a low battery indicator light flashes when the batteries need replacing.
A four-way manual lock on the front of the cat flap enables you to override the microchip-operated lock.
The cat flap is a drop-in replacement for many existing cat flaps and is easy to install in wooden or uPVC doors and can also be fitted into glass or walls - Separate accessories are available to complete glass or wall installations.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
How close do the cats have to be for the flap to recognize their microchip?
A sensor detects and quickly reads the microchip once the cat puts its head in the tunnel to push the flap open. Note that the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap does not activate if your cat is just wandering in front of the flap, inside or outside the house.

Best to check with the manufacturer on that one - give Sureflap a call as they are the manufacturer of the cat flap. The number to call is 0800 0124511. They have a fab customer care team there and will be able to help you. Thanks.

How big of a cat can use this? the hole seems small.
Never judge a kitty by her fluff! Keep in mind that under that furry exterior is a slim body that’s evolved for centuries to fit through narrow gaps.
Your cat’s approximate weight is all you need to get the right cat flap.
An average kitty weighs between 4.5 to 5.5 kg, and a microchip cat flap is rated suitable for gats up to 6.5 kilograms in weight. Since these flaps are supposed to have a small opening to ensure that other cats don’t enter the house at the same time as yours, these flaps feature a small entrance.

Can you set it to not need the chip so it is always unlocked?
Yes - pressing the memory button will release the locks. Then remove the batteries and it works as a conventional cat flap

Hi. Just changed batteries on our sure flap and it doesn't seem to be reacting now to our cat. Should her chip be stored permanently even after a battery change?
That's unusual, sorry to hear that Alan. Yes, the chip is saved and stored permanently. Are you using a decent brand of alkaline battery? Definitely no rechargeable batteries.
